🎉 JustAI's $17M Series A

Founder's note

Today, we're very excited to announce our $17.5M Series A, led by Base10, with participation from PeakXV and Y-Combinator.

In such a dynamic and competitive environment, reaching this milestone represents both a unique vote of confidence and frankly, a privilege. Yet what inspires me most is not the herculean effort we're already seeing come to fruition here, but the work this round now empowers us to tackle. Given the precious real estate on this page, I want to dedicate this note to three things: our early believers, our product, and the future that's glaring at us.

Our early believers

We started exactly 2.5 years ago, with a 1-pager in hand.

Some moments will always stay with me. Michael Seibel calling us back at YC because we had something interesting to teach him about Growth, Nirmal & Murph experimenting (pun intended) with our half baked product at Grammarly & BeReal, Jon & Andrew betting on us at Notion & Phi at Verbose resonating with our vision within 30min. They ran with belief in a moment when it would've been far easier to choose skepticism instead. It makes my heart full to bring many of them on as investors & advisors in this round.

Our early believers came in different forms. While Michael, Pete & Tyler took us through massive headwinds during YC, Jess & Rajan at Peak XV looked past the easy narrative - “marketing is too noisy”, and bet on the founders instead. The funny compelling traits thing they all had in common: strong intuitions, and the instinct to know how and when to follow them. I felt that same energy in my first conversations with Ade, Rexhi & Dani at Base10, and to be candid, we’re so downright pumped to be partnering with them.

And perhaps the biggest early believers, the ones who added legitimacy to what could be described as craziness, are our founding team. Jeff and the team have an amazing ability to roll with the punches, whether it's from Dario & Sam, our power customers, or well, from me. We've nuked things, rebuilt them from scratch, and moved on more times than I can count. That's the single biggest reason I'm confident we'll make it big despite the odds (that's my intuition, ha).

Our power customers fuel that spirit every day. Our product gets more powerful because of very, very forward customers, they teach us something new every day.

The product

We started with a simple problem: marketing decisions get made in spreadsheets, and experimentation takes forever. So what if we used reinforcement learning to automate those decisions?

As we did, we uncovered at least 10 more inefficiencies in marketing workflows, not because the technology didn't exist until AI, but because of a classic gap: marketers never had access to build what they needed, and translating it for builders took too long. Today, we're making marketers builders. For the first time, they can build exactly what they need, and we're democratizing that.

The future

Earlier this year, we found ourselves not doing enough. The problem with ambition is that it's always trying to beat its earlier self.

We knew we had to build it all, and build it to not just feel different, but actually be different. That takes patience, time, precision, brains, and most importantly, unlearning constructs defined pre-AI. We started with optimization on the pre-AI stack. That won't survive, would it?

So we're tearing apart the entire marketing stack, everything from infrastructure for agents to automations upstream of the execution workflow. Marketing is evolving into a hyper-nuanced process that requires moving at blistering speeds. Marketers need the tools to not just keep up, but win. We're here to drop an F1-grade revenue engine into our customers' setups and give them the keys, so they can run laps around their competition. We're more than JustAI.
